A little trip to Spain....

Hello Everyone,
This past week I have escaped away to southern Spain for five days of fun in the sun! I arrived with my dad at London Gatwick on Monday (21st July) around 6o’clock ish and ran straight to the check in desk; it seemed that we were waiting there forever so we started having a chat to the kind man in front of us who is a coach driver who is going back home to Ireland after not seeing his family for 4 months.

It seemed to take a while to get through to the departure lounge; when I finally got there (once I said my goodbye to my dad) I knew I only had about 15 minutes to get some breakfast and a few last minute items before going to the gate so I ran straight for boots. Once I had gotten to the gate I sat there waiting so that I could board the plane. As I was waiting I saw a familiar face walking towards my gate as the face came closer I realised it was a friend from school and she was going to be on the same flight as me. It was so weird how we were on the same flight at the same time and we didn’t even realise until now!

I am so glad I’m leaving this dreary weather!

Once the plane had taken off I knew I had a 2 and a half hour flight ahead of me so I thought I would kill some time by taking a nap. After sleeping for about an hour I decided to eat my breakfast which was an all day breakfast sandwich from boots. I also brought a Kitkat and my favourite flavoured water raspberry and mango.  As I was in the middle seat I couldn’t really look out the plane window which I usually do when I travel alone as the lady sitting next to me out the shutter down so she could sleep which is a bit of a bummer.

When the lady finally woke up and decided she needed a toilet break I took a quick snap of the plane up in the air!

Once I had finally landed and got my bag from the conveyor belt I was greeted by my Spanish friend’s family. I have known Maria (Spanish Friend) for nearly three years now and it all started when my school did an exchange. Over the past 3 years we have grown really close and I can’t wait for her to come back to England. After about an hours drive to her house I ran straight out to the balcony to check out my view. We've got a pretty great one!  Although it hasn’t changed over the years I still like to look at it every year.

After unpacking Maria and I decided we would pick up our friend Carmen and go to the beach and watch the sunset. Although it was only about 4 o’clock when we left the house we knew we had a few hours before the sun set so we relaxed on beach gazing out at sea.

We didn't gaze out at the sea for too long before we jumped straight in it!

As the sun started to set and the sea breeze became chillier we decided to head back to the car and have a look at the market in the near village.

We came inside to de-sand ourselves and freshen up for dinner and meeting other friends i haven’t seen in a while. I decided to wear little- barely any makeup out as that's what holidays are for right?

The next day we decided that it was too hot to do anything too active so we decided to go to the pool and have a chill day relaxing.

I know some people hate feet but it felt so nice too cool my feet of in the water!

So this was my first time ever drinking out of a can – I know strange right?-  but as I don’t drink fizzy drinks  I thought I would share this moment.
Nestea Is one of my favourite drinks to have in Spain so I just had to have one!

After many hours chilling and having a dip in the pool we decided it was time to get ready for dinner. I decided to keep my hair in a side braid and wear a cream cami from newlook and black scalloped edged shorts from Topshop. For shoe’s I decided on wedge sandals as I thought the outfit looked quite casual.
Maria and I before dinner..

The sunset from the balcony looked so beautiful that night.
So on Wednesday we decided to have a chilled out morning taking a short walk around the village. Medina Sidonia is a very small historical village that so many breathe taking views.

Later on in the day Maria, Davinia and I decided to go shopping as there are very unique little stores that we don’t have in England. My first buy way 2 phone cases which sadly I had to take back a they didn’t fit my phone( sad face) so I swapped them for a arrow head necklace and a scarf.
Shown Below:  (The background is the scarf)
On our way home we decided to stop by the busy town of Chiclana.

On Thursday we got up early and decided we were going to catch the bus to the beach. The sand felt so nice in between my toes.
We had spent all day there using up a whole bottle of sun cream because of how ridiculously hot it was!  (No I’m not complaining ha-ha it was nice). We got back from the beach fairly late so my friends decided to surprise me by going out to a meal as it was my last evening in Spain.  I decided to wear my blue and white stripy t-shirt dress and my white converse so it was smart casual as didn’t know how fancy this pizza place was.

So leaving day had come around I woke up around 9 o’clock ish feeling a little emotional not knowing when I am going to see Maria and my Spanish friends again. However I decided to get up and start packing my clothes from my wardrobe.

After breakfast Maria, Angel, Marga and I decided we would go on a last minute stroll around the historic village

.

We ended up at a little bar in the hills, as we sat there an English couple sat behind us sipping away at their tea, although I do love Spain being able to understand their full convocation without thinking too hard.

The day seemed to go really quick which is bad because I didn’t want to leave. As I arrived back to the house I saw a few gifts wrapped up on the table, the family had brought me farewell presents which was really nice. They also brought my family little gifts as well which is really sweet.  I was given a bracelet that says in Spanish “the future is today” which I thought was really aped for my travel adventure that I have soon.
As it neared 4 o’clock I knew it was nearly time to say our goodbyes for another year at least. The whole family came to the airport to see me off. Mum, dad, brother, cousin, aunt, uncle, Nan the whole lot it was nice of them but it just made saying goodbye that little bit harder.

As I waited in the airport watching people coming off the planes some starting their holiday and some coming back home I knew I had to come back soon. Spain is such a beautiful country that needs to be seen over and over again. I look forward in seeing you soon Spain but for now it is adios.

Thorpe Park Adventures.....

Hello again everyone;

So yesterday a few of my friends and I  went to Thorpe park the journey there seemed to take forever as we were excited  to get there and start the summer how we intend to finish it “having fun”.  Lucy and I have been to Thorpe Park a few times before however Chloe hasn’t even been on a ride from that point onwards we knew the day was going to be filled with laughs.

 Myself and Chloe before Colossus

Chloe and Lucy bobbing along on Rumba Rapids

When we first got there we went straight to Quantum. The feeling that you get when you rise and falls is so fantastic, although it isn’t the best ride there we thought it would be the best ride to slowly grow confidence to go on the larger rides!
We then went onto Colossus which was the longest queue of the day. It was Chloe’s first roller coaster ever. In the queue she was so scared but when she sat down I honestly thought she would be screaming but we both enjoyed it so much! The rush gave me such an exhilarated feeling. Going round and round on the cork screw, although I loved it Chloe did come off as white as a sheet.

Thorpe park has such a variety  of rides so if you’re not a thrill seek like myself then  there are plenty of rides like;  Storm in a Tea Cup and Rumba Rapids which are both great rides that have short queues. Thorpe Park really caters for everyone if you like rides. Other thing that make the experience even better was the sets that Thorpe Park has created. My favourite was the crashed fire engine when you walk towards Swarm, it brings the experience alive!

After very busy morning travelling and going on a few rides we unquestionable decision to stop for lunch.  We had the option to have a pit stop in Burger King or Pizza Hut as we didn’t want to wait ages as we had a lot more rides to go on; we  choose on Burger King as it was the closest too us.  I decided to order a sweet chilli chicken wrap and an Oreo ice cream, the chicken wrap was rather filling so we finished up our lunch and decided to make our way over to stealth.
Stealth’s queue  was only 40 minutes long which was the shortest  queuing time all day so that was the best time too queue; as we arrived  to the beginning of the queue Chloe decided she didn’t want to go on it so  she decided to have 40 minute tanning session. It also was Lucy’s first time on stealth although she is a thriller seeker like me however as we nearer the ride I could tell she started to get a little nervous. I understand why because its 200ft tall and travels 80mphin 2 seconds (I know quick ayyyy).

Stealth at it highest.

My all time favourite ride is Nemesis Inferno the feeling of the wind brushing past your feet as you’re whizzing through twisting and turning. Although the ride is very fast with many twists and turns it also very smooth running meaning that your head doesn’t jerk around like it does on Colossus. Another favourite is a ride called Rush it is also very similar to is Nemesis Inferno the feeling of the wind brushing past your feet however rush is not a roller coaster  but a swings which goes up to heights of  75ft and speeds of up to 50mph.

The Ride before ours on Rush.

As the jam pact day came to an end, we were all very tired  and couldn’t wait  to crash onto our beds to put our feet up, the last ride we went on was rumba rapids as it was the shortest queue but also the most relaxing. As we bob along we were sitting, laughing, reminiscing over other great days out we have had. Although I have known Chloe and Lucy for nearly 5 years it has only been the last year that we have become really good friends and shared so many great memories.

Bonjour, Hola, Hello........Welcome!

Hello everyone, welcome to my blog!

I have been planning to write my first blog for quite some time now, not only is it my first blog but also its the first week of summer so now it seems like the perfect time to start. So let’s start from the beginning – I’m Bryony Mitchell, 17 years old and live in Kent. After 5 years of studying at secondary school, I’ve decided to move on and study PE, Media and Photography at sixth form. I have one more year to go until I completely finish. I am currently volunteering as a gymnastics coach at my local gymnastics club, which has been an amazing experience, but I will explain that in more detail at a later date.

Life’s Little Adventures blog is something I really want to get going; knowing that living life to the fullest and being able to say yes to opportunities. It will be broadly based about anything and everything, from what I’m doing, to what I love and places I would really like to visit. I’m excited about finally getting this going …

I really hope you like it!
