Hello again everyone,
So as you may already know if you read my previous blog post
that I recently went on a family holiday to France. We stayed in a small town called
Houlgate which has a beautiful beach which was only a 15 minute walk from where
we were staying.
Day 1:
On the first day we decided that would get our bearings
around the town so we decided to take a stroll.
The architecture in the town
centre is stunning nearly every building has either a dome or an arch. The
village was so unique with individual shops that sold handmade items. After
looking around the town we had to check out the beach. The atmosphere of the
beach was fantastic, the beach was full of wildlife as well as people; however it
wasn’t too busy so you had your own space and not feel too cramped together. We
ended up spending the rest of the afternoon at the beach until it got late
which we then decided we would go to the supermarket to pick up some food for
the week. After we had finished at the super market we decided we would go out
for a meal at a local restaurant where my family not including me tried snails
for the first time. I have tried snails before but in a garlic sauce where as
this time it was in a chorizo sauce.
Day 2:
On the second day we travelled to the next town called Cabourg,
this town is very similar to Houlgate however it much larger and has a lot more
restaurants. The streets where decorated
perfectly with flowers in pots sitting on every window ledge, with traditional
shutters that had been painted a blue/ grey colour. As I previously said the
shops where all very unique; with fantastic treasures that you would never be
able to find at home. I also had my
first of many waffles this day. It was great the warm rich delicious chocolate melting
over the soft yet slightly crunchy waffle.
After deciding that we were all hungry we decided we would stop off at Olivier's Pizza restaurant where of course I ordered Pizza. Not only did I order Pizza I ordered my all time favourite Ice Tea what a surprise ayy!
My wonderful chicken, peperoni, pesto pizza with a fried egg on top. |
