An update of August

Hello again everybody,

I would firstly like to apologise for the lack of updates in august I was extremely busy with travelling, meeting up with friends and family that I haven’t seen in ages. I also apologise for not uploading last night my laptop broke so I am now using my sisters. So this blog post will be about August in general and how busy my August has been.

So where to begin.....

So during August I went to camping in the Ashdown forest (AKA Winnie the Pooh Land) with some friends which I hadn’t seen in a while due to the fact that I had moved school for sixth form.  We stayed in the Ashdown Forest for 6 days  where stayed in tents and had a huge catch up round the fire toasting marshmallows, we also got involved in local activities like kayaking, rock climbing and then finally we decided we would explore the area  and go on a 5 hour walk. I defiantly wanted my bed after that walk especially seeing that we got lost in woods for 1 and a half hours. Although we got lost with my “amazing” map skills we managed to get back on track in no time. (In all fairness I was just hoping for the best ooops).

So this me whilst trying not to fall out of my kayak!

Yes of course I fell in so I had to empty it out! ----Mann there was a lot of water
I think I have got the hang of it now
After returning from my amazing camping trip, I was back at home for a day before my family had decided that we were going to travel to London to go to a food festival.  I knew it wouldn’t be long before returning back to London. This festival was amazing for not only food lovers but people like me who like finding/trying new food that you would never experience an example of this would be gluten free cakes I would never have tried them as they were never that appealing to me but imp glad that I had tried it. The festival also features demonstrations, tastings and master classes with well-known chefs, as well as restaurant tents and a speciality producers market. There was also a Vintage Tea Tent, which hosted tea dances, BBQ and a Real Ale and Cider area. There also were many free samples that people were handing out which included tasters of a free ice cream created to promote Colgate toothpaste for sensitive teeth; after tasting the ice cream you would have to fill out a short questionnaire asking about how you found the toothpaste and if it worked. As I was answering the questions they asked me if I was in the 25+ category and not in the under 25. It went from one extreme to the other few weeks back when I was in London with Chloe and Lorna I apparently looked like a 9 year old and now look like a 25 year old hahah? I must age quickly then.

Just the surrounding area! it was so busy despite the weather.

Free sample of healthy popcorn...... mmmmm!

After the food festival I only had 1 day before I was going on my family holiday to France, it was so nice to have down time with the family seeing as we are all so busy doing our own separate things that we rarely spend time with all of us together. We stayed in a village called Holgate which is in Normandy.  The village was beautiful, the buildings were very unique and quirky; they all had personal quality’s to them which made the village completely different to villages here in England. Although we had an amazing holiday the weather wasn’t the best it rained every day except 1 which we decided that we would go to the beach which was about 15 minute walk from where we were staying.  So I thought I would do a day by day blog post of my trip to France rather than cram everything into this one post. so here is a quick snippet of my trip.

So here is an update of August for you it has been crazy busy for me and I will apologise one more time for not updating!

*Another little side note I start back at school this Wednesday so I won’t be going on as many big adventure like I have recently.

Being a typical tourist

Hello again everyone,
So recently I travelled up to London with Chloe and Lorna. For that day we were going to be typical tourist and look at the typical famous landmarks like, Westminster abbey (Where Will and Kate got married), Big Ben, and the London eye....

London Eye

After seeing the London Eye we were stopped by two tour guides that decided to pull a prank us. They pretended to be security guards and say we were carrying weapons in our bags (obviously we weren’t). Looking back it was hilarious how we all acted but am not going to lie I was terrified; even though I knew I hadn’t got anything in my bag. After them pranking us they told a few place of interest. We chatting to the tour guides until they thought Lorna who is 17 like Chloe and I was 13, Chloe was 11 and finally they thought I was 9.  They thought I looked like a 9 year! I suppose I will enjoy having a baby face when I am older.

We then went to Trafalgar square where there were many busy people taking down market stalls; it looked as though there had been a food festival that we had just missed which was ashamed as it looked like a cool place to be.

There were many street entertainers in Trafalgar square which creeped me out as they just hovered on the spot; Crazy right? I do not understand how they were hovering but I defiantly creeped me out. After walking past the street entertainers we decided to go to the national art museum as Chloe is very arty.

After Trafalgar square we decided to go Leicester square and go to the M&M world. I have always wanted to go with my family but when my mum and dad went with their friends they couldn’t stand the sweet chocolaty scent that lingered in the shop.

Covent Garden was our next stop of the day, the atmosphere and the markets are perfect just having a nosey at all the little bits and bobs. If you read my last post then you will know my love for Ice tea, as we were in Covent Garden we walked past a shop called whittards which were giving free samples of Ice Tea. I was in my element what could make the day any better. I had to try.  We also went into a little cute cup cake shop which had rows and rows of gorgeous looking cupcakes, we all decided on a red velvet cupcake.

If you cant tell Chloe loves Cupcakes

Covent Garden Market

It was finally lunch time after Covent Garden so we decided to stop off at Hyde Park and have a little picnic. The weather was so beautiful that we ended up after we finished eating taking a stroll round Hyde Park. It felt so bizarre that we were in busy London yet it was so calm, tranquil in the park and also to think if we walk 5 minutes out we would be back in the busy world.

I t was time to hit the famous Oxford street. Chloe had never been to Oxford Street before so Lorna and I thought we would show her what she was missing. Chloe could not believe her eyes as we stepped out of the tube station. We spent around 2 hours looking around the different shops that included, Primark, new look, forever 21 and Selfridges. We did not fit in Selfridges on little bit we stuck out like a saw thumb as many women strutted their way round in their suits but my god was the dresses in there beautiful ; yes! Were the dresses in their expensive; yes! I looked at a dress which was £4000 and that was on sale. It was ridiculous.

It started to get late once we had finished our small shopping trip up Oxford Street so we decided to stop off at a Chinese restaurant in china town called Old Town 97.  The food was amazing we had decided on sharing a set meal for 2 and extra rice as there was 3 of us. As for dinks Chloe and Lorna both ordered a coke as for me I ordered something different for a change an ice tea. ( ohh the sarcasm)  after the meal we were all so stuffed so we decided to take a small stroll through China town before heading to Victoria station for our train back home.

A final group photo before we went home

It was so nice to take a small trip to the capital sit with my close friends and being able to activities that we wanted to do rather than going in a large group and cover everything. I am sure it won’t be long until I will visit you again London so you defiantly won’t be missed.
